My name is A.K. Willett. I was born on an army base on a Thursday in May. My mother, I've been told, did not get to eat dinner that night because I took so long to make my grand entrance.
Growing up, I devoured books on a daily basis - everything from Charles Dickens to Judy Bloom to Stephen King. As a result, I have a very active imagination which is constantly assigning plots and back stories to the people and situations I happen across. I've held a variety of jobs which have only encouraged this habit, including positions as a hair salon receptionist (lots of juicy stuff there), a preschool teacher, a sandwich maker, a book seller and a fireworks stand salesperson (not as exciting as one might think). At this moment, I am supplementing my writing career with a very unglamorous gig as an administrative assistant.
Currently, I live on the East Coast in a cozy townhouse with my husband, two kids, five fish, and two very mischievous cats named Milo and Jack.

oldest of 4 children.

I have an
obsession with Magic 8 balls. So far I have collected a basic 8 ball, a Date
ball, a Sarcastic ball, a Baby ball, a Love ball, a Spongebob Squarepants ball,
a Muppets ball, a Series of Unfortunate Events ball, and a Hanna Montana ball.
I have my eye on a Simpsons ball and a High School Musical ball at this very
moment.

My
husband and I were married in Las Vegas by an Elvis impersonator.

Last
year, I fell over my laptop and twisted my ankle. I had to work from home for a
whole month. Not really as much fun as you would think, seeing as how I
couldn't move and everything.

My
favorite color is red.

I'm
turning 32 this year.

I've
written one fan letter in my life. It was to Esther Williams and I got a signed
picture back.

95% of my
tv watching time is spent on the Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney
channels. The other 5% is spent watching all of the "grown-up" shows
we've Tivoed with my husband.
Bonus Fact: I still have my
favorite doll from when I was 3. His name is Joey and he sits right on my
bookshelf with my 8 ball collection.
